The skill set required to photograph travel are the same as wedding photography if you think about it – portraits, landscapes and details are all used to tell a story. Using these shooting skills we will embark on a St. Louis adventure cruising in and around the awe inspiring Union Station. Our goal will be to shoot images that capture the essence of St. Louis. Photographing travel locations can help sharpen your overall photographic skills and make you a better wedding and or portrait photographer.

As we become more mobile and travel - are we putting too much emphasis on the gear and not the experience? Regardless of where we are in the world – we want to capture awesome imagery while being in the moment and enjoying the experience.

Although we can use any camera to photograph with we will discuss the benefits of mirrorless cameras versus traditional DSLR’s

After visiting every continent except Antarctica and most of the United States, I have an appreciation for keeping it simple, while creating images that tell a story. I will share my experience from these voyages and discuss how to create photographs with impact using the latest camera technologies.

Items to be covered will include:

1. Comparison of DSLR’s versus the new mirrorless cameras

2. Equipment considerations – including lens selection and accessories.

3. Preparation - what to do before your adventure to increase the odds of capturing great photographs.

4. William’s top secrets for great travel images!

5. How to share your travel photos.

6. Easy postproduction – the finishing touches.

7. Actual hands on shooting session around our venue in St. Louis.
